Short stories in several anthologies and a prequel novella (Daughter of the Dispossessed) that introduces a main characeter in my novel coming out this fall.

3. When you are procrastinating from your writing, what's something you've been into lately that's keeping you from your work?

It's spring and time to get out hiking in the woods.

4. How have you been using your voice to make the world a better place?

All writing is political and I use it to amplify women and magarginalized communities (GLBTQ+) communities in my characters. I'm a loudly out lesbian and in vocal support or my GLBTQ+ (expecially trans) friends.

Today’s Fast Five guest is author Karen Eisenbrey!

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I lead a quiet, orderly life in Seattle and invent speculative stories to make up for it. Mostly novels, but also short fiction, poetry, and pop songs when they insist.

2. What do you have out there now that readers can enjoy?

Fantasy: Tales from Deep River series: A Quest for Hidden Things (Book 1); Daughter of Magic trilogy: Daughter of Magic (book1), Wizard Girl (book 2), Death's Midwife (book 3). Science Fiction: Ego & Endurance. Superhero: St. Rage series: The Gospel According to St. Rage (book 1); Barbara and the Rage Brigade (book 2)

3. When you are procrastinating from your writing, what's something you've been into lately that's keeping you from your work?

Cat accounts on Twitter and Bluesky, especially Friends of Bear Cat Rescue; yanking invasive weeds from my garden (hopeless yet satisfying); ARC reading for author friends, which I have overpromised this spring, but everybody keeps releasing awesome books.

4. How have you been using your voice to make the world a better place?

I read and promote work by and/or about marginalized people. I am active in a radically welcoming progressive church community. I try to be an encouraging presence on social media, and gently push back against harmful posts when I see them.

5. Where can readers find you and your work?

My website, HERE.

Thank you for all your work for readers, Karen!
